This hotel is not trustworthy, stay away!
General information: This hotel does not keep it contract with client. I made a room reservation specifically requested a room in the main building facing the city view. I received written confirmation from the hotel reservation team. When I arrived around 8pm local time, the reception clerk told me that there was no available room in the main building, she offered a room in the back building. I refused. I asked for the manager. He showed up with the pathetic face, keep saying: "sorry, sorry, sorry". I was very angry for his no-action attitude. When you are coming to Taipei, stay away from this hotel. This hotel is not trustworthy. It does not keep its promise. Location and surroundings: It is on top of a hill, far away from the city center. Sometimes it is difficulty to get a taxi. There are many Chinese tourists stay in this hotel who are noisy and rude to other hotel guests. Service: No up to par. Dining: Average. You can get mush better authentic foods anywhere in the city. Sports and leisure: no comments Room: ancient and not clean Useful tips: Stay away from this hotel. Go to a better and cleaner one in the city!

The Grand Hotel Taipei impresses with its majestic architecture and rich history. The room offered generous space and stunning views, but the beds felt too firm for comfort. While the shuttle service is convenient, the lobby often seemed overcrowded, impacting the overall atmosphere during check-in.

Had an updated deluxe twin room, which allowed us to enjoy pleasant view onto the mountain and city. The atmosphere created was special. That hotel was in a stunning and great location, to the Express train back to the airport...

This is what stood out
Nestled on a hill, the expansive balconies and serene views captivated me. Enjoying a morning swim, I felt rejuvenated. Dining on local delights was a treat, though reservations are a must! Easy access to jogging paths and nearby landmarks added to the charm. A enchanting experience that balances heritage and comfort!

I recently stayed for 3 nights, and the experience was amazing! The iconic architecture felt impressively grand, and the views from the enormous balcony were breathtaking. The dim sum at the restaurant was a highlight, but I recommend making a reservation. Can't wait to visit again!

The breakfast buffet was a real treat, offering delicious options to fuel our day. The staff were very good, even upgrading our room for us.
In my wife's opinion, a small kids' play area would have been perfect for our little one.

The Grand Hotel is fine. The lobby is huge and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed the live piano concert every evening. Breakfast offered a great variety of dishes. Rooms are spacious and clean, with a lovely view of Taipei 101. Staff at the lobby café were friendly. I found the service hit or miss. Some staff seemed rushed and not as cute. The shower cabin had a loose joint, and there were no bathroom amenities like soap, not quite what I expected from a 5-star hotel. Location is a bit inconvenient for getting to central Taipei, but the historic charm made it worthwhile. Still, the hotel can feel crowded at times due to tourist tours.

A historical gem that offers fine views from the front rooms. The lobby showcases beautiful handcrafted decorations. While the pool and gym facilities were really good, cleanliness, especially on the balcony, required more attention. The limited food options could benefit from more variety, particularly with Mediterranean dishes.
